Latest collaboration tools

If you're a small team wanting to share documents, tasks, calendars and to communicate better - or a large organisation doing the same and trying to capture knowledge across multiple teams, there's a range of web enabled collaboration tools that you should look at.

We're currently using Centraldesktop within our business and with our clients because it ticks a lot of boxes:

  • rich functionality
  • browser based (nothing to download)
  • works close to 100% behind corporate firewalls
  • range of pricing plans from free to enterprise level

But there's plenty of other alternatives from the latest Web 2.0 offerings to some the corporate IT department might prefer.

Have a look at:

  • Basecamp - project delivery with a focus on communication from the good folk at 37Signals
  • Huddle - a UK based service
  • Projectplace - one we've used before within a large UK organisation
  • Sharepoint - often the one that already exists inside organisations on an intranet basis

That's a good spread of what's on offer - we'd be happy to help if you can see the benefits for your company.
